Qixia
Economic and Technological Development Zone is located by the Yangtze River to
the east of Nanjing urban area, with the golden waterway to its north, the new
town of Longtan to its east and new urban area of Xianlin to its south. It is a
supporting zone for the national level development zone¨CNanjing Economic and
Technological Development Zone, with a planned area of 13.77 square kilometers.
At present, the gas¨Csteam combined cycle power plant (3¡Á390MW) of Huaneng Power
Development Corporation with an investment of 3.7 billion yuan is under
construction, extra large projects such as Huaxin Stainless Steel complex with
an investment of USD 900 million and an automobile town with annual production
of 300,000 cars are being operated, and the coal-fired power plant (4¡Á900MW) of
Huaneng Power Development Corporation with an investment of 17 billion yuan is
in the approval process by the State Planning Commission. The development zone
is actively attracting projects of modern manufacture and machine building and
processing.

Initial period work progress and present status: planning for standard buildings
