Nanjing issues its first "green card"

Several years ago, a national key project with 2.9 billion USD in investments settled on the shores of the Yangtze River.

Today, the president of the company who has lived in Nanjing for seven years had the good fortune to become the first foreigner who can apply for a Chinese "Green Card" with the qualification of prominent contributions to China in Jiangsu.

At 9 o'clock on January 4, a German man walked into the Exit-Entry Visa Service Hall of Nanjing's Bureau of Police and consulted relative procedures for foreigners applying for permanent residence in China. After 5 minutes, policemen completed all application procedures for German man.

The name of the foreigner who applied for this "Green Card" is Blumenberg. He is German and is the president of Yangtze BSF Co. Ltd.

Seven years ago; Dr. Blumenberg came to Nanjing and began construction work of BSF joint venture-a national key project. On August 20, 2004, Dr. Blumenberg expressed his desire to file an application, and after New Year, he came to Nanjing's Bureau of Police with application material.

He also became the first foreigner who applied for a "Foreigner's Permanent Residence Card" in Nanjing.
