Musical instrument attracts a foreigner

Walking into Wang and Xie former residence at Wuyixiang, you can hear the music played by the musical instrument. A reporter stepped into Wenyuan Musical Instrument Room, a foreigner was sitting up in front of the ancient musical instrument.

Teacher Gui Shimin of Wenyuan Musical Instrument Room introduced that the Chinese name of this foreign student was Shang Aiyue. He studies Chinese in Nanjing University. In summer vacation, he works in Shanghai. But in order to learn play musical instrument, he comes to Nanjing from Shanghai every week.

Shang Aiyue coms from Chicago America. He said he was born in December 1982. He likes music, trumpet, piano, and guitar. During his senior high school, he attended the Jazz band and was invited to go to Beijing, Luoyang and Zhengzhou.

He was attracted by Chinese culture. So he studied Chinese and Chinese history in New York University. Last summer, he came to Qingdao to teach English language. In December, he came to China after graduation and studied Chinese in Nanjing University.

He said: "here, in a ancient little room, so many students can study each other. I can do exercises at any moment. Here is my 'Chinese home'". Shang Aiyue told the reporter that he sent email of DV that he played ancient musical instrument to his parents and friends.

"They all support me. Next month, my sister and brother-in-law will come here. My parents and brother will also come here in autumn. I will bring them see my 'Nanjing's home'".
