On December 13, the expansion project of the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders that attracted the attention of many people was officially started.

According to our understanding, the area of memorial hall with 478 million RMB of investments is 3 times than that of old one.

It is predicted that the whole expansion project will be completed at the end of 2007 and will be officially open to the public on December 13, the 70th anniversary of Nanjing Massacre.

Curator Zhu Chengshan of Jiangdongmen Memorial introduced that according to the design planning, the whole hall presented the shape of "Ship of Peace". The general conceptive is constituted of war, killing and peace.

The new hall is in the east part, the old hall is in the middle part and the peace park is in the west part. The whole memorial hall likes a dignified wall.
