On December 13, 1937, after the Japanese invading troops occupied Nanjing city, I escaped and gathered wit large quantities of innocent refugees and unarmed Chinese soldiers adding up to over 57 thousand along the Yangtze River in Xiaguan District. After captured by Japanese troops, we were gathered and in captivity in several villages at the foot of Mufu mountain. Insulted and humiliated for several days, a large number of us encaged residents died from famine and freeze. On December 18, the rest of us were bundled and sent under escort to Caoxiexia, then strafing. Few of us wounded but not died were thrust by sword bayonets again. At last, set fire to the corpses and the debris were thrown into the Yangtze River.

The gravestone is located in the Shangyuanmen along the Yangtze River.
