On 15 December 1937, Nanjing civilians and unarmed soldiers from "the international safety zone" altogether over two thousand were sent under escort to the outside of Hanzhongmen, and were strafing. The wounded but not dead people were thrusted or burned. The bodies were all over the mountains and plains, the scene is extremely cruel. To the next year of 18 February and 21 February, the charity ,that is, Nanjing Red Cross laid one thousand three hundred and ninety-five debris into coffins, and buried them in the Guangdong memorial park and Erdaogengzi which is in the outside of Hanzhongmen.

According to the investigation cognizance from Chinese court-martial adjudging the Japanese war criminal in 1946, over two thousand Chinese people were slaughtered collectively in the outside of Hanzhongmenr on15 December 1937.
