At night of December 15 in 1937, the invading Japanese troops committed over
nine thousand Chinese civilians and unarmed soldiers to Yuleiying and massacred
them collectively by machine-gun. In the same month, the Japanese army
slaughtered over thirty thousand civilians and soldiers in the strap of
Yuleiying and Baotaqiao. The victim skeletons were exposed in Junying Port and
so on until February of next year. The scene was extremely cruel. Afterwards,
the Red Cross buried the corpses on the venue. Just on February 19,21 and 22,
the death toll added up to over five thousand.
