On 25th December, Ministry of Information industry, Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Science Technology unite granted Nanjing and other five cities the name of "China outsourcing service base city". At present, there are 11 cities have been recognized in China.

Till 2005, there were 30 enterprises with software export business in Nanjing, total value of export reached 210 million US dollars, increasing 167% to the year before. Among them 14 companies's export sales exceeded 1 million US dollars respectively, some of them, such as SunJapan, Fujitsu which has already became "China top 20 software export enterprises".
