The day before yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the establishment of EU. A reporter learnt from Nanjing Municipal Service Center of Business Attraction that EU has become the first trade partner of Nanjing. In 2006, the total export and import volume reached USD 6.4 billion with an increase of 18.1%.

As informed, the products exported from Nanjing to EU are mainly related to LCD screens, base stations, various ships, motorcycles, lightings, shoes and textiles. At present, such 29 among "Fortune 500 enterprises" as Shell Group, Phillip and Nobel have invested in Nanjing with a total registered foreign capital of USD 890 million.
