www.odtn.com 2009-7-1 15:08:03

July 4th is going to be the first anniversary of the opening up of Taiwan Travel. On average, about 70 Jiangsu visitors visited Taiwan a day during the past year.

According to Tang Jianguo, the person-in-charge of the Jiangsu Provincial Tourism Administration, the total number of tourists from Jiangsu visiting Taiwan has exceeded 26,000 persons during the period between the 4th of July, 2008 (the opening day of Taiwan Travel) and the 30th of June, 2009. This number has made Jiangsu province stand in the forefront among all other provinces since the opening up of Taiwan Travel.

It is expected that the number of direct flights between Nanjing and Taiwan will increase to 6 flights from 3 a week after September 1st. Therefore, travel agencies are planning to launch more traveling packages to attract more Taiwan goers.
