www.odtn.com 2009-7-3 15:19:16

In the first half of this year, 102,000 new jobs were created in Nanjing. 29,000 persons signed their new labor contracts in June alone, which created a record high for the past eight months.

By June, 102,000 new jobs had been created. 32,000 laid-off workers had been re-employed. 7,000 persons with difficulties in finding jobs had found their new jobs under the assistance of relevant departments. 6,800 new laborers had got their first job and 40,000 rural laborers had got their jobs in Nanjing.

"This indicates that the impact of international financial crisis on employment is weakening and the employment situations are getting better in Nanjing," said Diao Renchang, the director of Nanjing Labor and Social Security Bureau. The special funds of 710,000,000 Yuan have been budgeted by the municipal-level and district-level financial departments for improving employment in Nanjing.

In the first half of this year, 71,709,700 Yuan of career introduction subsidies, job subsidies and social security subsidies were appropriated. The social security contributing rate of employers has been reduced by 1.7 percentage points, which helped the enterprises save 361,000,000 Yuan in total.
