Yesterday, the 2006 China Nanjing Cultural Industry Fair ended in Nanjing International Exhibition Center. A reporter learned from the organization committee that in five days, the total trade volume of Cultural Industry Fair broke through 20 million RMB. 26 cultural industry projects reached the investment intent. The total investment volume of projects exceeded 5 billion RMB.

According to the introduction, the exhibition area of Cultural Industry Fair reached 43 thousand square meters and there were 1500 standard exhibition desks. 20 activities including Historical and Cultural Cities Exhibition and Painting and Calligraphy Art Exhibition were held. The number of items on display exceeded 2 million. Mayors and officials of 53 domestic and foreign cities attended the opening ceremony of Cultural Industry Fair and visited exhibition areas.

According to the introduction, in the whole exhibition areas, the number of exhibition desks of painting and calligraphy, carving and curios reached 700. The trade volume of artworks accounted for over 2/3 of total volume of trade.

Cultural Industry Fair collected over 100 thousand pieces of paintings and calligraphies, carvings, curios and jade articles. Among these, there were over 10 thousand painting and calligraphy works and the trade volume of auction reached over 10 million RMB. Nanjing Cultural Relic Company released 500 works to attend the auction. The dealing rate reached 60% and the trade volume exceeded 5 million RMB.

Wonderful forums and activities of Cultural Industry Fair also attracted the attention of many residents. At the Cultural Industry Public Forum, residents made suggestions for constructing cultural city.
