367 pieces of historical materials prove atrocities of Japanese troops

Yesterday, Chinese-American Lu Zhaoning arrived in Nanjing from New York. He donated 367 pieces of rare historical materials that he collected in America, Japan and China to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders.

Part of historical materials collected on line

Mr. Lu Zhaoning is a Nanjingese. He migrated to New York in 1980 and works in an electric power company in USA now. Lu Zhaoning told the reporter that the donated historical materials were auctioned on line. In order to get more historical evidences, he went to America, Japan and China.

Historical materials proving atrocities of Japanese troops

The reporter saw that 367 donated pieces of historical materials included photos, maps, pictorials, magazines, post cards, books and newspaper. There are 87 photos, 66 memorial cards and 96 magazines as well as 50 post cards. These historical materials become another evidence of atrocities of Japanese troops.

Many original materials filling up blank of hall collection

Curator Zhu Chengshan of the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders said: "These are uncommon historical materials. Many of them fill up the blank of hall collection." He showed a leather bag to the reporter: "This is a leather bag carried by Japanese commander. We saw it in many material photos. But it is the first leather bag collected in the hall." Among 367 donated materials, there are "Reader's Digest" issued in July 1938, "National Geographic" issued in February 1938, "Life" issued in October 1938, "The New York Times" issued on December 14, 1938. These five materials reported Nanjing Massacre.
