The "Golden Week" of National Day has ended. What happened in Nanjing during
the "Golden Week"?
50 shopping centers earning 2 billion yuan
Yesterday, a reporter learnt from Nanjing Municipal Trade of Business and
Trade that during seven days of "Golden Week", the consumption market of Nanjing
was very flourishing. The sales volume of over 50 business and trade enterprises
in Nanjing exceeded 2 billion yuan with an increase of 23% as compared with that
in the same period last year. And, residents paid more attention to the quality
of merchandises, and the fashion consumption became more and more popular.
As learnt, during this "Golden Week", IT products and electric appliances
became the new hot spot of the market. Notebooks, business mobile phones,
digital cameras, DV and TV realized the sales volume of 880 million yuan with an
increase of over 30%. At the same time, high-leveled clothing, makeup, gold and
jewel decorations were still hot spots in the market. In addition, tour, body
exercises, SPA, shopping and out-door sports have become new leisure ways for
residents.

According to the statistic data of the department of public traffic, during
the Golden Week, the number of passengers including residents in Nanjing and
tourists from other cities and countries exceeded 2 million for the first
time.
At the same time, during the Golden Week, Nanjing sent 28,792 buses in order
to insure the public transportation in order. According to the data from metro,
from Sep.30th to Oct.7th, the metro added 42 times into operation in total with
2.4 million passengers.

The tourist income increases 20%
During the Golden Week, the income of tourism in Nanjing reached 2.333
billion yuan with an increase of 25.2% as compared with that in the same period
last year. As informed, in these seven days, the number of tourists in Nanjing
reached 3.16 million, hence increasing 16%.
But the number of complaint cases was only 75 with a decrease of 21.1%. Among
these cases, 45 were involved in merchandises and other 30 ones were related to
service.

Farm tour becomes more popular
In this Golden Week, farm tour routes became more and more popular among
residents. According to the statistic data of tourism department, during this
Golden Week, all farm tour routes in Nanjing accepted totally 465 thousand
tourists, hence realizing the income of 48.2 million yuan.
Luhe Area, Fujiabian Scenic Area, Jiangxin Islet and Laoshan Forest Park
promoted their special tourist items, in order to attract more residents and
tourists.
"Net tour" becomes the new leisure style
Besides traditional tour, more and more young people choose to spend their
Golden Week at home.
