"Viewing plum blossoms and expressing philanthropic spirit" is the theme of this Nanjing International Plum Blossom Festival. This Plum Blossom Festival will set up branch venues in 11 districts and counties.

"World harmonious bell" to be stricken

At night of February 27, the "2008 International Tourism and World Harmonious Forum" and the opening ceremony of Plum Blossom Festival will be held in Weijing Hotel. The forum will last two days.

Guests who attend the "2008 International Tourism and World Harmonious Forum" will strike the "world harmonious bell". The bell is 1.2 meters high with 600 kg of weight. The bell expresses people appeal peace and highlight environmental protection.

Ambassadors and ambassadresses delegation visiting Nanjing

The ambassadors delegation attending the Plum Blossom comes from 18 countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and America, including Singapore, Iceland, Philippine, Austria, Romania, Peru and Congo. Ambassadors and ambassadresses delegation will visit Nanjing and attend relative activities of Plum Blossom Festival as well as paying a visit to the Mausoleum of Sun Yatsen, Plum Blossom Hill, the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, and Yunjing Embroidery Graduate School.

Promoting exchange and cooperation of tourism industry

It is reported that Nanjing Bureau of Tour will invite representatives of 100 well-known to attend relative activities of Plum Blossom. They will visit Plum Blossom Hill, Nanjing Museum, Zhonghuamen Castle, the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders and the Confucius Temple Qinhuai Scenic Area.

In addition, from February 28 to March 1, the Yangtze River Delta-Nanjing Tourism Fair will be held in Nanjing Planning and Construction Exhibition. In the afternoon of February 29, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Huzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou will hold City Cooperation League Meeting with the theme of "Cooperation, Development and Win-win".
