A reporter learned yesterday that the general tourism planning of Jianye District was divided into two tourism areas: Binjiang New City Tourism Area and Historical Tourism Area. There are 6 tourism functional areas.

Binjiang New City Tourism Area includes four tourism functional areas: Binjiang scenic belt, Olympic Center, Shuiximen tourism leisure sight and Hexi New City sightseeing tourism area. Historical Tourism Area includes outer Qinhuai River scenic belt and Shuiximen tourism leisure sight belt.
 
Jianye District has set up Olympic Center, Green Expo Garden, Nanhu Park, Jiangxinzhou Tourist Center and other tourism projects.

At present, Jianye District is carrying out reconstruction of Jiangxinzhou Street, the third phase of reconstruction of Folk-custom Street, and other tourism projects and relative establishment construction. The total volume of investment of these projects reached about 2.3 billion RMB.

In 2005, Jianye District received 3.9 million tourists and the total tourism income reached 168 million RMB, up 132.1% and 76.8% over that of 2004 respectively.
