Yesterday, Jiangsu Tour Bureau and Jiangsu Statistic Bureau released data that last year, economic indexes of Jiangsu tourism industry set the historical records.

As of the end of last year, Jiangsu received over 4.45 million foreign tourists and realized tourism foreign exchange income totaling US$2.788 billion, an increase of 17.7% and 23.4% respectively. Jiangsu received 199.96 million domestic tourists and realized domestic tourism income totaling 201.128 billion RMB, an increase of 16% and 23.7% respectively.

Travel agencies organized 302.9 thousand residents to tour foreign countries, an increase of 17.9%. The total tourism income of Jiangsu reached 228.348 billion RMB, an increase of 23.1%. The tourism added value reached 102.756 billion RMB, an increase of 20.4%.

It is reported that the tourism added value accounts for about 4.8% of total local production value of Jiangsu.
