The diabolo has many popular names like 'kongzhu', 'kongzheng', 'dilong' and 'dihuangniu'. The native of Nanjing calls it 'weng' and calls its playing¡°douweng'. In the city, there are three old families well known for its playing, which are respectively called 'Zhumingtang', 'Zhuyintang' and 'Zhulintang'.

Among them, the first one, lying in #2 Daban Lane, Shengzhou Road, has the greatest reputation. Its masters can play in tens of ways, which are called 'the jump of a carp over the Dragon gate', 'fishing for the moon in the sea', 'the cross of Eight Immortals over the sea', 'the climb of a monkey up a flagpole', 'ball playing by two dragons' and so on.
